Basteroe is either the first or second boss in Catacombs of the Damned depending on if a party chooses to go West or East first. Basteroe can either be absurdly easy or absurdly difficult depending on your groups approach.
Basteroe Skills:
Black Hole: When the fight starts there will be a black how on the ground and if the boss is lured into it, he will take double damage.
Ground Explosion: The damage from this skill is easily avoided and easily healed through. It is shown as a green area before it explodes. Sometimes it will be difficult to see it with the effects from Black Hole.
Summon Wraith: Basteroe will summon Wraiths that have their own set of skills.
Wraith Skills:
Scream: AoE damage upon being summoned.
Fireball: If you are targeted by the Wraith and a distance away, the Wraith will opt to shoot a fireball at you.
Sickle Attack: If you are targeted by the Wraith and in melee distance, the Wraith will opt to strike you with his sickle. This will occasionally be a double strike.
Strategy:
The easiest strategy for this fight is to stand in the Black Hole with the boss and dps him down. Since you will be doing double damage the fight will last a short amount of time and the healer should be able to keep you up through it. During this time it is still helpful to avoid Ground Explosion if you can.
This fight can end up going horribly wrong if players start to panic and spread out. It makes it a lot tougher on the healer and as they run around the boss is living longer.
