Maneloth Guide

Manelloth is the final Boss in Catacombs of the Damned and for many groups a major stepping stone. He is one of the first bosses players will have to deal with that actually requires a decent amount of awareness.

Skills:
Black Shield: Manelloth creates a black shield around himself. While this shield is active he will regain health. This means that when the shield is up players should burst heavily to bring it down.

Lightning Strike: Manelloth attacks with a straight stream of lightning. The attack does multiple strikes against an opponent and will hit all opponents caught in the stream. This is easily dodged since it has a long charge time.

Lightning Ball: When Manelloth reaches around 30% health he makes a small ball of lightning that follows a random party member, generally the one furthest from the boss. This member needs to run to ensure the ball doesn't hit him. If it hits it will go toward another party member, generally the main group where it will chain lightning to all of them. This skill is pretty much spammed.

AoE Fire Blast: Manelloth will begin by charging a small ring of fire underneath him which will explode to do AoE damage. This is easily blocked for reduced damage.

Shadow Bomb: A player will randomly be marked with a small dot above their head. This player needs to get away from other players because they will explode to deal damage and a stun.

Strategy:
The strategy for this fight is pretty straight forward. The clerics and sorcerers should stay at range and apart from each other. This will ensure that they can just spam their skills since the only abilities that will directly target them is lightning ball and the occasional shadow bomb.

The melee group should be able to avoid 90% of lightning strikes and shadow bombs by staying on their toes. The AoE fire blast will catch them occasionally but is easily healed through. The trouble doesn't really start for the group until lightning ball comes out. Should the cleric or sorcerer get hit by the lightning ball the melee member it is targeting needs to lead it away from the other melee.

All the damage during this fight is easily healed through as long as the melee group stays together and avoids getting chained in skills. Getting hit by any skill is not difficult but when a melee gets hit by lightning strike, fire blast, and then is unlucky enough to get shadow bombed, it strains the healer. If one dps goes down, it is unlikely the group will be able to damage through the black shield fast enough.
